ASCN change theory - notes

Context: this change theory focuses on a rather difficult way in which improvement can be achieved in STEM outcomes, specifically in institutional or college-scale outcomes of affordable, equitable quality (i.e., appreciable, meaningful gains in quality, access, and affordability - 3fold gains)

Developing the institutional capacity to achieve such 3fold gains can takes ten or more years to flower. That estimate is based on four case histories I’ve developed of ‘normal’ institutions (sizeable regional public universities). And there’s no indication that any of them have reached the limits of the possible.
